Authorizers:   Charter schools can only be sponsored by the local LEA. The State Board of Education may sponsor a charter school if the decision to deny by the LEA is appealed to the state and the state approves the application.

Funding:   Charter schools are funded through the State School Fund. They receive 80% of the ADMw (Average daily membership, weighted) if they are a K-8 and 95% of the ADMw if they are a 9-12.
