Legislative SummaryIdaho charter legislation, passed in 1998, authorizes local school districts to grant one charter school per year up to a maximum of 12 statewide per year, and a total of 60 in the first five years. Charter terms are up to five years, as are renewal terms. Funding is comparable to other public schools.
