| Legislative Summary | Passed in 1995, Wyoming's charter school legislation sets no limits on the number of schools or students enrolled. Any individual or group is eligible to operate a charter school, except private or home schools. Local boards are the charter approving agencies. Charter terms are 5 years. Students in a charter school are included in the district's Average Daily Membership, but the new law requires that the charter school receive at least 95% of the money generated by its students (the district may keep up to 5% for administrative costs).
