Statewide Support Organizations Idaho Charter School Network Idaho State Department of Education Legislative Summary Law:   Legislation creating Idaho's Public Charter Schools Amendment(s):   Amended each year since 1998. Authorizers:   Local boards of trustees. Length of charter:   Up to 5 years Caps on number of schools:   During the first 5 years not more than 60 schools may be approved. Not more than 12 schools may be approved in any one year. Only two charter schools will be granted within an educational region, and not more than one charter may be granted per school district in a year. No school district may be converted to a charter district. Funding:   Same schedule of payments as other public schools.
