Caps on number of schools:
There is a cap of six charter schools. One per Congressional district (as they existed at the time of the original legislation) plus an additional one for the Mississippi Delta.
Funding:
Mississippi charter schools are eligible for the same funding as regular schools. They may receive federal, state, local or private funding. They are not taxing authorities and may not levy taxes or request tax increases in order to generate funding.
