Authorizers:
After a charter petition has been approved by a local board of education, the petition may be submitted for approval by the State Board of Education. The State Board of Education grants the charter. The local board of education sponsors the charter.
If a local board of education denies a charter petition, the State Board of Education may grant a charter for a state chartered special school.
