




Twelve studies find that overall gains in charter schools are larger than other public schools; four find charter schools’ gains higher in certain significant categories of schools; six find comparable gains; and, four find that charter schools’ overall gains lagged behind traditional schools.

On September 18-19, Texas Charter C.H.O.I.C.E. (Coalition for Hope & Opportunity in Charter Education) will hold its first Annual Legislative Leadership Summit to assist Charter School Leaders in continuing to build relationships with key Texas legislators, State Board of Education (SBOE) members, and other key education policy makers. The Summit program features a variety of topics, including possible future legislation, ongoing regulatory concerns, tools for reaching At-Promise students in dropout recovery/prevention programs, as well as an "ongoing credit" program on "How to Make the TEA, the SBOE & Key Legislators YOUR Charter School Advocate."
