




Twelve studies find that overall gains in charter schools are larger than other public schools; four find charter schools’ gains higher in certain significant categories of schools; six find comparable gains; and, four find that charter schools’ overall gains lagged behind traditional schools.

This free website is designed to assist parents of children attending public schools "in need of improvement" take advantage of new, free tutoring opportunities provided by the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001. The site was created to help parents to identify and select local providers to meet their needs; help educators to inform parents about their options and make sure they are receiving high quality services; help policymakers to implement the program and evaluate its effectiveness; and, help new and potential providers to enter the "market" and improve their services.
