Lori - I don't think your idea is unrealistic or too simplistic just another valid approach to educating our youth. That said, it shouldn't be the ONLY choice for teachers and families. Thinking about a Teacher Professional Partnership requires one to think about the whole educational environment and changes that need to be made to make it more effective. One of the biggest challenges I find in trying to articulate the vision we have for our school is changing people's perception of what a school is. Just that word alone - school - instantly fills one's mind with all kinds of images, thoughts, experiences, etc. Changing the norm is confusing and uncomfortable for people.
