Creating NEW Schools or Schools With NEW Ideas? 6/10/04 1:14 PM
Author: Roger W. Bourassa View Thread

Lori, I posed the question this way for a number of reasons. There has been much dialogue this week on duplicating schools, replicating schools, best-practices in education, research-based models of instruction, etc. Also, there is the debate over which schools are doing a "better job" at educating students. More attention should be focused on what is different about the educational programs that parents have to choose from, rather than who is best. A round about way to get to the point; however, when starting a school from scratch, my question for you is, What new ideas are you bringing to the educational program you envision? Or will you be replicating/duplicating other successful urban models? Or is it a little of both?
