So how do we find a way to distinguish between excellent teachers who can deal with the disruptive student(s) and those who can't?
As an alternative school teacher, who has no charter school experience, I want to know how charter schools deal with the disruptive, the apathetic, the troubled students who really feel like school is a prison. They come to school every day, though, for a myriad of reasons: they're forced; school's the safe place to be; they get fed; they get to be around others; their "dogs," "Homies," (whatever name they have for them) are at school; there is someone who cares about them, etc.
