Many charter schools are embracing a site-based governance structure where teachers are given more responsibility, accountability and ownership in the educational process. What are the challenges and benefits of this decision-making structure with respect to teaching and learning? What are the leadership essentials of a charter school principal? Where is this movement going to find these kinds of leaders for its next 3,000 schools?
