As a director and co-founder of another small rural charter school, I share your challenge to obtain adequate facilities. The sad part is that the loan programs that are now available through the federal government are limited to larger schools. I was told they wouldn't even consider talking to us if we had fewer that 250 students. Like you, we are aiming to keep our size below 100 students for a lot of sound educational reasons. That means we pretty much have to fend for ourselves. Perhaps those of us who are small and rural can appeal to both the state and federal governments to help us with this facilities problem in a new and creative way not currently provided.
