In Arizona, we have charters that are directly associated with the community colleges, and schools have had fantastic results. We are now looking at changing legislation that would allow for charters to be authorized by community colleges. This partnership makes perfects sense, as 30 years ago when community colleges were blazing their trail, they were faced with the same mix of attitudes (hope, scorn and disbelief) that charters now face.
