Todd, I agree. A Charter does not equate excellence. Nor does a Charter mean that teaching and learning experiences will be different. If a school chooses conversion, what are they going to convert to? Should schools consider creating smaller school units within their school, which will provide families with a choice? Could there be several smaller schools - each with its own, unique teaching and learning experiences - that will meet the specific needs of a group of students/families within the larger, diverse student body?
