While I don't think it is necessary for authorizers to go on a school closing spree, and I realize that closing a school is often easier said than done, it seems to me that authorizers should take this opportunity to close some of their most chronically low-performing charter schools. At that same time, though, they should be working to open hopefully more effective schools for these students.
