appealing to a broader constituency 6/7/04 11:06 PM
Author: Margaret Roush-Meier View Thread

Your broader movement is complete educational choice - Arizona enjoys the largest number of chartered schools in the nation - not just because of its charter school legislation, but because our stage is set with the most liberal of homeschooling laws, a tuition tax credit for private and parochial schools, universal open enrollment and a right to work state. The vast majority of our families are no longer beholdened to a single educational model - no political subdivision holds the entitlement to our children or our teachers. We compete for the right to employ our teachers and the privilege of having students in our classrooms. Our charter school demographics closely mirror their surrounding districts and the diversity of delivery systems is unparallelled anywhere else in the nation.
