Our charter school has just completed a year in which we were in the "news" more often than we desired. The reasons are not important here, but the experience of being interviewed by newspapers and television reporters is a heavy responsibility. The pressure of explaining the background of a situation, giving information to the public, then knowing that others will disagree with your position even in the same article, is daunting. It is highly appropriate to ask the reporter to let you review his information and if necessary make changes before the interview is concluded. The newspaper reporters that I have met are very professional and well informed. Television reporters are not generally as well informed.
