I have a unique situation that occured in New Jersey. Our charter school closed for a good reason. We were approved to operate a full day kindergarten charter school. At the end of our start up year, our parents wanted their children to remain at the charter school. Since our mission focused on a kindergarten program, we needed to apply for an elementary charter. When our elementary application was approved, we surrendered our kindergarten charter to the Department of Education.
