I want to concur with this writer's opinion about the importance of framing the discussion, how it is framed, and what is framed. It is crucial that the message be positive and that it achieve mass appeal by claiming the high ground of the public interest in quality education for all children. Unfortunately, in my view, the "Charter" movement is more identified with privatization than it is with the public interest. Even though we might still be in the infancy of this movement, it is probably too late to change the infant's name. Fortunately, just like people, movements can earn new nicknames as they mature. I'm hoping the Charter movement soon earns the new nickname of "The New Public School" movement ....
