1) Media's love for human interest stories plays to one of the charter world's strengths. Charter schools are largely about the dreams and actions of real people attempting to better serve real kids. We need to humanize the charter story.
2) Unfortunately, our compelling stories will never be heard if the movement continues to rely on policy wonks, advocate-types and novices to do media relations. We need people that understand and can capture the human elements of our story. And we need people that think creatively about where and how to place our stories so they can reach the broadest audience.
