There are at least two directions that can be taken with these questions. One direction is a pure political path, do those with political power support or oppose charter schools? This is important. I think it is also important to consider another path. What do legislative leaders and policy makers in your state really understand about charter schools? Do they understand how charter schools are having, and can have, a positive impact both on the students in their buildings and on all public schools? Do they understand how charter schools work in the overall scheme of education?
