School Director Organization: Peachtree Hope Charter School Type of Job: Administrator Grades: Elementary School Application Deadline: 02/28/2010 Job Description: School Director (Principal) BACKGROUND REQUIREMENTS: Preferred applicants hold a master’s degree with teaching and administrative experience. STATUS: Exempt HOURS PER WEEK: 40+ All successful applicants must meet employment requirements including, but not limited to, reference checks, criminal background checks, and education verification checks; and must have authorization to work in the US or must be able to obtain US work authorization. CALENDAR: Calendar Year, includes 3 weeks paid vacation The School Director of Peachtree Hope Charter School must have superior interpersonal and communication skills, be a strong and positive school leader with a proven history of performance with community stakeholders, students, parents, teachers and staff. Previous charter school leadership experience is a plus. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: All School Employees Summary of Duties: Responsible and accountable for the proper, efficient and successful operation of the school in all areas, with particular emphasis on: academic achievements, enrollment, operational and financial efficiency, and external relations and compliance. Ensures that the SABIS® curriculum and philosophy are implemented throughout the school community. Supervisor (direct or as ultimate on-site authority) of all school employees. Holds regular meetings with Administrative staff, Department Heads. Observes and evaluates teachers, reviews exams and students’ scores. Reviews and approves all internal and external communications. Serves as primary liaison to the Board of Directors. Meets with parents as needed. Responsible for efficient implementation of the SABIS Student Life Organization® in the school. Peachtree Hope Charter School is is a tuition-free public charter school scheduled to open as a K-5 school in August 2010. The Board of Directors of PHCS contracted with SABIS® to establish and operate PHCS as a member of the SABIS® School Network. SABIS® is an international, college-preparatory education system with roots in the 19th century and a vision for the 21st century. This system, at the forefront of global education, is currently being successfully implemented in over 75 schools in 15 countries and educating approximately 56,000 students around the world.
