Resource Coordinator

Job Description:
In August 2006, the University of Chicago Charter School Corporation opened the University of Chicago Charter School, Woodlawn Campus, a new 6-12 public charter high school on Chicago’s South Side. The school’s mission is three-fold: (1) to ensure all students develop the habits of mind, work and heart to be successful in college; (2) to contribute to the community through student research, service and leadership projects; and (3) to collaborate with teachers and principals across network schools to continuously improve teaching and learning. The Resource Coordinator will coordinate and sustain all aspects of an effective after-school and community program which will provide opportunities and resources for students, parents, staff and community members. In addition, the Resource Coordinator will work with school leadership, students, staff, parents and community members to develop, implement and manage all components of community school partnership, including student programming, and parent/adult education; provide supervision, training and professional development to community school staff and partnerships to ensures program efficacy; develop a comprehensive evaluation plan, which includes ensuring feedback on a regular basis from all stakeholders (administration, students, parents, staff, agency partners and community members); actively participate and engage in expanding membership to include a diverse range of community stakeholders on the Advisory Council, which provides input to the development of the community school; work in collaboration with administration to negotiate agreements with agencies, community partnerships and individuals who provide services; complete necessary paperwork, including monthly reports associated with administering an effective community school (recordkeeping, attendance, grades and other grant demands); participate in school leadership team meetings, attend any required trainings and meetings and perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Applicants should have a minimum Bachelor’s Degree in social work, education, or related field and experience in program development and management; be collaborative, goal-oriented, and mission driven, possess the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously; be accountable, responsible, self-managed, and self-motivated, and possess excellent written and oral communication and computer skills. Qualified candidates will have at least 3 years experience working with middle and high school youth in an urban public school setting and/or youth organization.
