Abstract:  This study posed more than 40 questions on vouchers and charter schools to 1,200 Americans, plus additional subsamples of parents and community leaders. Major findings of the study include: while 68% of American adults said they strongly favored or somewhat favored the concept of charter schools, 81% of them said they know nothing or at best very little about this type of school. Only 8% of parents said they would definitely send their school-age children to a charter school.
